Privacy Notice — Free Visuals

Cerebra Consulting Inc. · Version 1.3 · Effective 22 October 2026

1. Who we are and scope

Cerebra Consulting Inc. (“Cerebra”, “we”, “us”) publishes Power BI custom visuals and provides related support. This notice applies only to no-charge Cerebra Power BI visual editions whose Microsoft Marketplace listings or documentation link to it, together with related support requests and product documentation. Paid, subscription, trial and enterprise editions are outside this notice and will have their own applicable privacy disclosures.

Microsoft operates Power BI and Microsoft Marketplace under its own terms and privacy notices. Your organization may separately control semantic models, source systems, permissions and its own privacy notices. This is a notice for our visual products and related activities, not a general corporate website cookie notice.

2. Information provided directly to Cerebra

When you contact us, we may receive information you choose to provide:

  • Your name, business contact details, organization and correspondence.
  • The visual name and version, Power BI environment, troubleshooting details, and screenshots, sample reports or diagnostic files supplied for support.
  • Support reference numbers, where relevant to a support request. This free-visual notice does not describe subscription billing, paid entitlements or paid-service accounts.

Remove personal and confidential information from support material and use synthetic sample data whenever possible. Do not email passwords, access tokens, secret workflow URLs or payment-card details.

3. Report data and product runtime

Power BI supplies report fields to a visual to render the configured content. Whether a particular free visual processes data only within Power BI or uses a disclosed external service depends on that visual’s actual implementation; consult its Marketplace listing and product documentation. Do not assume that all free visuals have identical data flows.

Where a free visual is expressly identified as local-only, it does not transmit report fields used for rendering to a Cerebra-operated external service. This does not cover data separately sent to support or processed by Microsoft or the customer’s own systems.

4. External connections, if applicable

If a covered free visual includes an optional external integration or data transfer, its product-specific documentation should explain the destination, purpose, data involved, service operator and relevant access or retention conditions before use. This notice does not cover future paid or subscription features.

No feature of a covered free visual authorizes unrelated use of report contents. This notice does not grant Cerebra permission to use customer report contents for advertising or AI-model training.

5. How we use information

We use information received for support, product and security inquiries; investigating reliability, compatibility and security issues; maintaining necessary records; and meeting applicable legal obligations. This free-visual notice does not govern separate paid-service billing or subscription administration.

6. Sharing and service providers

We may use service providers where reasonably necessary for communications, support, website operation or disclosed functions of a covered free visual. Product-specific disclosures should identify any external providers processing report data. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect legal rights or security, or in a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

7. Retention

We retain information as reasonably necessary for its purpose and applicable legal, contractual, security and recordkeeping obligations. Retention may differ for support correspondence, diagnostic material and backups. Paid subscription records are outside the scope of this notice.

Removing a visual from a report does not itself delete Microsoft-held data, source-system records or support correspondence.

8. Security

We apply technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the services we operate and the information we handle. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Product security contact: pbisupport@cerebra-consulting.com. Do not include credentials or unnecessary sensitive information in an initial message.

9. Privacy choices and requests

Depending on applicable law and our role, individuals may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection or withdrawal of consent. Send privacy inquiries to contact@cerebra-consulting.com. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting on a request. If your employer or another customer organization controls the information, it may be the appropriate first contact.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this free-visual notice as practices, products or laws change. The revised notice will state its effective date and any required additional notification. Product-specific free-visual disclosures may supplement this notice. Paid and subscription visual editions are governed by separate notices.
